acrylics and mixed mediums on paper
@ 2019
This painting has been Juried into the Federation Of Canadian Artists Show 2019 POTE: Painting On The Edge from July 24 to August 4, 2019.
A Rose by any other name is still a Rose! Rose was my Muse for a series of paintings. I used the portrait from my “A Rose” painting to create acrylic skins to lay into other paintings. The paintings in the series are, “Sisters”, “My Sister’s Sweater”, and “The Three Sisters.”
For the last while I have been exploring creating acrylic skins of portraits I have painted. The acrylic skins are fragile and temperamental in their development. I have discovered that a mixture of patience, time and the correct polymer medium create the best results. My Sister’s Sweater is one of my recent renderings.
